Obituary of Hermano Medeiros Arruda

ARRUDA, Hermano Medeiros (September 5, 1930 – April      20, 2022) – Passed peacefully with family by his side at Santé Manitouwadge Health. Beloved Husband of Margarida for 61 amazing years. Cherished father of the late José, Maria (Joe), Fatima (Kevin), and Paul (Jennifer). Avô to Lindsey (Toby), Melissa (Brett), Drake (Denika), Brady, and Athena. Great Avô to Amelia, Jayda, Kinsley, and Alex. Hermano is predeceased by his parents Hermano Sr. Arruda and Leonilde Medeiros. Hermano is remembered by his brothers Evaristo (late Dialina), and Carlos (late Ermelinda). Hermano was predeceased by his brothers and sister Bernardino (late Teresinha), Jose (Gorgina), and Conceicao (late Alfredo). Hermano will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the countless friends he has made over the years in Manitouwadge.

Hermano came to Manitouwadge in 1967 from Acores, Portugal, nine years before Margarida and his children came in 1976. Hermano was very devoted to the catholic church throughout his life, and he was very proud to be a Knights of Columbus. Hermano spent countless hours tending his garden and enjoying “Herman’s Farm” that included pigeons, rabbits, and chickens.

Donations in memory of Hermano made to the Manitouwadge Cancer Assistance Group would be greatly appreciated by his family. A visitation will be held on Sunday April 24, 2022, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
