Obituary of Dorothy B. Nabigon
Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
NABIGON, Dorothy B. - Wdewehganiiwkwe, Maang doodem - Dorothy Nabigon, beloved sister, aunt and friend began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday April 27, 2016, where she will join her parents Camille and Ruby and her loved ones who went before her. Dorothy’s brothers and sisters, Alvina Michano (Arnold), Wilfred (Kathleen), Delphine, Stanley (Alice), Darcy, Chris (Susan), and Adele will miss her dearly. Dorothy’s greatest source of happiness was the time spent with her nieces and nephews, especially her Reesee Peesee. Continuously making them a priority, she gave freely of her love and her time. Always ready to cheer on the Leafs and Blue Jays, she went above and beyond to make these times special with her family. Sleepovers, special treats, movie marathons, storytelling, camping, hunting and fishing were some of the activities she enjoyed with her family and friends. Special to her heart was her love for our children. Wdewehganiiwkwe embraced her Nishnaabe teachings as she searched to discover Mno-bmaadziwin. Her connection to the land provided her guidance, strength and was her source of life. Wdewehganiiwkwe loved Biigtigong and actively participated in helping out in the reclamation and revitalization of our Nishnaabe way of life. She understood the importance of sharing knowledge and willingly did so, especially if it helped the well-being of our children. Dorothy loved to share daily affirmations, believing in our ability to change our world despite life’s challenges. The Maang doodem will miss their sister and will continue to honor the teachings she so eagerly shared. Jiibyi-shkode will be held at 25 Rabbit Drive in Biigtigong, family and friends are welcome to drop by. Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday April 29, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the Funeral Mass on Monday May 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Gzaaghigoo Wdewehganiiwkwe.
