Obituary of Helen Goodwin

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

GOODWIN, Helen – Passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday April 6, 2024, at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of Grant Goodwin. Loving mother of Greg Goodwin (Jackie) and Wendy Goodwin. Proud grandmother of Faith and Brice. Daughter of the late Margaret and Donald McDougall. Dear sister of David McDougall (Syndi) and Neil McDougall (Carmella). Helen will be remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Helen moved to Manitouwadge in 1969, where she found and married her best friend.  She was an avid volunteer, gardener, and could always be found walking everywhere. She will be greatly missed by her church community, her walking friends, golfing buddies and cross-country ski friends.   The family is grateful for the quick response, compassion and professionalism of the Manitouwadge Fire Department, Superior North EMS, and the Ontario Provincial Police.

At Helen’s request cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A service will be held at Bethany Pentecostal Church, Manitouwadge on Saturday April 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m..  (Arrangements entrusted to Kerry Funeral Home, Wawa, ON 1-800-439-4937). www.kerryfuneralhome.ca
