John, our sincere condolences to you and your family. We are so sad to hear this . This is the autographed hockey card Chris was so kind to sign for Andrew and he still has the stick . Also his hockey card with Chris as his favourite player. We will never forget all the times you came to watch him play when you worked in the Soo. It meant a lot to him and us. Take care. + 1
I want the world to know every thing I love about you.
You made my whole world a million times better the day I met you. We did everything together and I loved every minute I spent with you.
I love how much you loved your community. You told me you never wanted to leave Wawa and in all your travels around the world, Wawa, specifically the North Shore was the most beautiful you ever saw.
I love how you understood your own body enough to heal mine. Any soreness I developed was excitement for you because you could heal it with your hands.
I love that you spoke with such love when talking about your children and their accomplishments.
I love how funny you are. We laughed so many times in the day and I'll forever miss that.
I love that you held me on a pedestal and the world knew how important we were to each other. There was nothing that could separate me and you.
I love how much you secretly loved the dogs. You would play fight every day with them and they would lineup for their turn. A day never passed.
I love how you always wanted to give me a pedicure. You were so proud of the work you would do that i would have to take photos of you and your "finished product."
I love that you were home for my children every day after school if they needed you there.
I love your love for gardening. You had such a green thumb.
I love that every morning before work you told me I was beautiful and you loved my costume and we would both giggle.
I loved the stories you would tell about growing up with your friends and the trouble you all would stir up.
I love the rock adventures we would go on.
I love to travel with you. You would always say as long as I have you I am calm.
I love how you would drive me around every lunch hour just holding and kissing my hand while we drove aimlessly.
I love that we got out golfing with friends and how we would cook dinner together every night. And damn you are a good cook.
I love how you would take me to special places and we would sit in nature for hours, talking.
I love and appreciate everything I have learned from you.
We made so many memories in our time together that I will cherish forever.
I will forever miss you Chris.
You are my perfect.
I love you more than life itself.

Chris we may not have spent much time together after I moved , however I never stopped following you through your career. I will always remember how you were always there when another player came close to me. I only wish I could have been there for you my friend! Rest easy Chris, until we meet again.

One memory that sticks out of my mind is in 2015. My best friend was battling cancer. Her family decided to throw a hockey themed fundraiser for her. I had a Colorado jersey that had Chris’s number on it so I reached out to him and asked if the next time I was in Hawk Junction could we meet up and he sign the jersey. Chris replied “Absolutely I will. Is there anything else I can help you with?” He welcomed my son, my mom and myself to his house with open arms, and we spent time just talking and laughing. Before we left, he said to me “you let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you or your friend”. He was so kind, compassionate, and generous. Truly one of a kind.
Sending everyone love and strength during this difficult time.
Love,
Jayne Panttila-Risse and Family

Dear Linda, John & Family,
We just read of your great loss this morning and want to share with you the following...
The Impact of One Life
When a stone is dropped into a lake,
It quicklly disappears from sight---
But its impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broaden and reach across the water.
In the same way, the impact on one life lived for Christ
Leaves behind an influence for good that touches the lives of so many others. - By Roy Lessin
With Love & God's Blessings for comfort and thankfulness for Chris' life,
Wendy, Kim & Jenny Creasey
(we lived in Wawa in the 1970's-1981. Linda and Margaret were on an MNR tree planting crew with Kim, way back when/then).

I will always remember our times fishing Wawa creek and the Magpie river with you as kids. All the secret lakes Alfie and Dawn would take us to and later on all the snowshoe trecks to some lake we picked on the map in Lake Superior park. You were the best of all of us at any sport. You deserved so much better. You were a great man who will be missed by so many. We'll ice fish together again on the other side. Jude peace my brother.

Sending sincere condolences to everyone who loved and was loved by Chris.
Linda and John my heart is broken for you. May all the wonderful memories made as a family bring a smile to your face, hold pride in your heart and perhaps allow a tear to fall from time to time.
Chris was loved by the people of Wawa. Admired by many for his skills on the ice, on the lake, on the course and in the woods. A true northern Ontario boy.
May his soul and sacrifice make a difference moving forward and draw the much needed attention to the trauma he lived with on a daily basis.
Chris Simon - legacy in life and death - you will make a difference Chris.

In this solemn moment, we will always remember the beautiful spirit that was Chris. He had a selfless and generous heart that made everyone feel special, especially a young boy named Zach who viewed him as his world. His thoughtful nature, imbued with kind and gentle qualities, brightened our lives like the spirited puppy Simon we named in '96. Simon lived until he was 17 years old and ironic number. A courageous genuine soul indeed! As we mourn his loss deeply, may comfort find its way into your hearts during this heartbreaking time. Below are a few photos …. Chris gave my son a few things after an NHL game. I can’t tell you how ecstatic we were a night we will always remember. Miss you man.

Dear Mr and Mrs Simon, Charlee, and family,
Even though we knew each other only briefly in Wawa when we were very little, Chris made a positive and lasting impact on my life that I will continue to cherish forever. He was so sweet and kind and offered friendship when I lived with my mom, for a time, in the Grace Street apartment building.
I wish that he could have been spared the pain and difficulty that he faced, especially in the years following his hockey career. Sadly, so often, remarkable people experience such fierce and, seemingly, unrelenting challenges.
Together with my daughter and husband, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Chris's loved ones.
With warmth and sympathy,
Cynthia.
