Obituary of Linus Louis Kwissiwa Sr.

KWISSIWA, Linus Sr. – (August 15, 1954-December 21, 2021) - It is with great sadness that the family of Linus Kwissiwa Sr. announce his passing on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Marathon, Ontario. Linus was surrounded by his loved ones when he took his adventure to the spirit world. Linus will be sadly missed by his wife Pamela, along with his five children Bruce, Charie, Adam Alexandra (Ross) and Linus Jr. (Jessica). Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren; Kayla, Tanisha, Kelly, Wendall, Alla, Keyshia, Katrina, Madison, Darius, Dylan, Samiah and last but not least his best friend and sidekick Landyn. Linus cherished each and everyone of his grandchildren very much! Dear son of the late Louis and Nelda Kwissiwa. Linus is survived by his siblings Rosalind, Lavina, Charlene, Cheryl, Geraldine and his younger brother Paul. He is now reunited with his brothers Clayton Sr., James and Johnny and also his sisters Debbie and Thelma. Linus will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the friends he has made. Linus was born in Pic Mobert First Nations, where he lived, and was a respected Elder in the community. His deep love of music would shine through when Jonny Cash could be heard. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of the Wilson Memorial General Hospital, Marathon. Friends and family may pay their respects at St. John Francis Regis Church, Pic Mobert First Nation on Sunday December 26th beginning at 11:00 a.m. and on Monday December 27th, 2021. A Funeral Mass will be held at the church on Tuesday December 28th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jerome Nnanna officiating. (Due to Covid-19, face masks or face coverings are mandatory. Also, social distancing will must be respected). In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
