FORTIN, Gilbert Henry (July 2, 1944 – February 6, 2020) – Passed away with family at his side at Chapleau Health Services. Devoted and loving husband of Rose Mary for 52 amazing years. Caring father to Ian (Dianna), Dean (Miracel). Best Grandpa to Justin (Dezerae), Jaime (Brendan), Evan, Severin. Great Grandpa to Myla. Brother to the late Danny Martin (late Sharon). Gilbert is predeceased by his parents Edgar and Alice Fortin. He will always be missed by Cathy along with his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, as well as all of his brother and sister in laws.
Gilbert was an avid gardener and fisherman; he could always be found in the outdoors working or helping someone on something. Friends and family are invited for a time of visiting Saturday February 15, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Officiated by Reverend Hervé Sauvé. Donations in memory of Gilbert made to Chapleau Health Services would be greatly appreciated by the family. Gilbert’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the countless nurses, doctors, and staff at Chapleau Health Services for their tremendous amount of compassion, care, and support in this hard time.
