My mother, Marlene (nee Iserhoff), and I (cousins of Wilfred, Alice and Charles) were saddened to hear of the passing of Wilfred. Although it has been many years since we have been able to visit Missanabie, we always think very fondly of the Sheshequin family in Mom's childhood hometown. Our sincere condolences to such a warm and friendly family.

Alice and Charles, The Klaus family and us were saddened to hear about the passing of Wilfred. The work your family has done to create Wilderness Cabins has afforded us with many happy memories. We thank you and Wilfred for this. He will be remembered sitting by the dock watching people come and go. All the planning that went into the camps, and the opportunity for our Grandsons to appreciate the outdoors. Warmest regards, Richard and Barbara Allen, and the Klaus Family

On behalf of 5 generations of the Goodman family who have enjoyed visits to Missanabie and Dog Lake over the last 50 years, I'd like to express our collective condolences to Alice, Charlie, and the extended Sheshequin family over the loss of Wilfred.
As has been true with his late father, Bill, and with Charlie, the Sheshequin's have been a big part of what has made our visits to Missanabie so joyful for many years. We've both learned and been entertained by the stories that Wilfred shared over the years about growing up in a place we find very special. The connections we get to make with interesting and unique people are one of life's special treasures, and Wilfred was all of that, and then some, to us.
Every time I catch and grill a lake trout, I will forever associate that experience with a can of motor oil, thanks to Wilfred!! And every time I go past the Narrows at the west end of Dog Lake, I will see Wilfred and the "Musky" there in his special spot.
Our best wishes for comfort to all...
Wayne & Marty Goodman (and our extended families in Michigan and Ohio)

Condolences to the family. Wilfred told me a story of making bannock in the bush and he ran out of ingredients so he added cocoa. He called it chocolate bannock. We had a good laugh about it. Rest in peace Wilfred.

Our most sincere condolences to Alice, Charlie, and Charlotte; our hearts are so heavy right now... Wilfred was such a great man, a gentleman, and an honour to have known and spent some time with. We always looked forward to visiting him at the dock, before heading across the lake.
The world has become a little less, and heaven a little more.
