Obituary of Gaston Demers

DEMERS, Gaston - It is with great sadness that the family of Gaston Demers announces his sudden passing on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the age of 54.  Gaston will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 34 years Susie, and their daughters Melanie (Joshua) and Kimberly and treasured grandchildren Chloe and Brynlee. Gaston was one of eight children born to the late Edouard and Therese Demers.  He will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers and loving sisters; Carole (Wally), Pierrette (Yvon), Claude (late), Marius (Therese), Patricia (Gilles), Michel (Gloria) and Mario (Johanne). Gaston will be missed tremendously by his mother and father-in-law Barbara and Don Russ and sisters and brothers-in-law Ginger (Moe), Donna (Pat), Mitzi (Martin). Gaston will also be forever remembered with love by his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and extended family and his dear friends.  Following in his father's footsteps, Gaston had a lifelong career that he loved in the forestry industry spanning forty years.  Gaston was an avid golfer and drummer, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling, and jamming with his band.  He was always joking, had a beautiful contagious laugh, and treasured being with his family and friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Chapleau Civic Centre (20 Pine Street West) on Tuesday, February 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sebastien Groleau officiating.
