Obituary of Léopold Santerre

SANTERRE, Léopold Joseph – Passed away peacefully at the Chapleau General Hospital with his family by his side on Thursday November 23, 2017 at the age 73 years.  Beloved husband for 50 years to Helen Santerre.  Best friend and loving father of Marc Santerre (Carmelle Bernier), the late Anne-Louise and Susanne Santerre (Michael Newman).  Proud grandfather of Renay, Danyelle, Johnathan, Merek and Noah.  Loving great grandfather of Sterling, Jase and Baby Boy due in February 2018.  Dear brother of Anne-Marie, late Louiselle, Jean-Claude, Ginette, Berthier, Nicole and Jocelyn.  Léo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and he will be sadly missed by the community of Chapleau.  Friends may visit at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5 on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.  A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday November 29th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sebastien Groleau officiating.  Cremation took place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie.  Memorial donations made to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.  (Arrangements entrusted to the P.M.
