My Sincere Condolences to Alfred's Family. I knew Alfred and Rene when my Father worked as engineer at Shingwauk mid to late 50's I remember Rene especially, he was like my little brother at the time. I also remember all the staff putting money together so all the girls and boys graduating could have a new suite for the boys a new dress for the
girls as I had told them that the girls particularly were upset about what they would have to wear and my Father initiated the collection. I have a lot of fond memories of those times and also of the Grief my Father and I felt when Rene died which should never have happened. It was during the summer and most of the kids had gone home for the summer so we would have the boys at our house a lot, my Grandmother enjoyed them very much as they were quite the comedians. When Rene was picked up in the Soo
I remember Dad and I went and asked that he be left in our custody rather than where he was being sent but they would not allow it because we were not Family? I still have a picture of Rene that we took in town at a booth after we all went to the movies one Saturday. I did go and visit the school a few years ago as I no longer live in the Soo but a lot of the boys used to visit Dad and I after we moved to Toronto
Sometimes for a visit sometimes for a place to stay, we were always happy to see them all. Kelly Bull, Johnny Yesno can't remember all the names but they considered us fiends as we will always consider everyone who came into our lives from the school. May God's Love Surround All of his Family at this time. I will always have good memories of them. CHEERS Mary Ann Rushton
