Obituary of Adele Marie Nabigon
NABIGON, Adele Marie - Msko-mko-kwe (Red Bear Woman) Loon Clan (March 7, 1963 – July 20, 2017) - Our beautiful Adele has left this physical world and is journeying to the spirit world to once again be the arms of her parents, Camille and Ruby, her sisters Imelda and Dorothy, brother Edward and her cherished nieces and nephews. While she walked the earth, Adele touched the lives and hearts of many. She generously shared her many gifts and freely gave of her love. Her spirit was rooted with kindness, compassion, love and the ability to make others laugh. Adele’s humour was contagious and brought much joy to the world. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with those whom she loved. She understood the importance of supporting others and was always thinking of others. Adele had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, whom she made a priority in life. Special times were always had, whether it was in a hockey arena, a baseball field, a wiener roast, sleepovers, pizza nights, Adele loved spending quality time with her greatest loves. She was a special sister and an amazing friend, whom everyone cherished. Her life was full of people who loved her, it was easy to love Adele, as she unconditionally gave of her own love and time. Adele always said she had the best job in the world. As a Special Education Teacher, Adele believed in her students and did everything possible to facilitate their growth and development. She had a special connection with each student and developed lifelong relationships that were always grounded in love and filled with laughter. She was a team player, who constantly made contributions and embraced learning. She held her co-workers with the highest esteem and was so proud to be part of this extraordinary team. Adele always went above and beyond, knowing she had the opportunity to impact the lives of others. Her times with her students always brought great joy to her life – her stories were a testament to this. Her love for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays filled her life with much excitement and passion. Sounds of her screams and cheering could be heard throughout her neighborhood. Some of the best times with family and friends were spent enjoying her teams. She never gave up, despite the not so wonderful record of the Leafs. Adele will be sadly missed, but the lessons she modeled and the memories left behind, will give us the strength and resiliency to live our lives to the fullest and embrace life. Her beautiful spirit will always be with us and the warmth of her hugs, the love in her heart and the laughter she freely shared, will resonate in each of us. Adele will be resting at the home of her sister at 40 Pic River Road, in Biigtigong, from Saturday July 22 to Tuesday July 25 – everyone is welcome to stop by. A Jiibyi-shkode (sacred fire) has been lit and official ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m. each night. Adele’s funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 25, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Church, with Father Mathias officiating. To feast Adele’s spirit and celebrate her life, a “ChiChi’ style wiener roast will be held at 40 Pic River Road (please bring a chair). 'Gzaaghigoo Msko-mko-kwe'. We will honor you forever, our sweet beautiful ChiChi! xoxo (Arrangements entrusted to the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home Ltd., Wawa, 1-800-439-4937). www.gilmartinfuneralhome.ca
