MOREAU, Regis Albert --The family wishes to announce the passing of Regis Albert Moreau on March 20, 2017 at the Bignucolo Residence at the age of 85 years. Regis was born in Chapleau, Ontario on June 22, 1931 he grew up in Nemegos, Ontario and lived in Chapleau most of his life. In the early years he ran a trap line and guided moose hunts, he worked for the Department of Highways as a patrolman for many years and he ran Buckshot Bear and Moose Camps along the CPR line. He retired to Nemegos to the Moreau family homestead where he lived his remaining years fishing and hunting. Regis married Lila Linklater and they had ten children, 21 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. Regis leaves behind a large loving family; a daughter Mary Gail (Syd O’Riley), daughter Marilyn (Robert Plourde), daughter Joanne (Michael Branchaud), daughter Katherine (Terrence Piche), daughter Anne Marie (Donald Barsalou), daughter Cynthia Moreau, daughter Valerie Moreau, son Shawn Moreau, son Douglas Moreau and daughter Wendy Moreau. Missed dearly by his 21 grandchildren Shawn Kirkness O’Riley, Jonathan, Benjamin and Cameran (Robyn) Plourde, Andrea Bourgeault (Ryan Kapeluk), Deanne Branchaud, Scott McKechnie (Kayla), Cory, Melissa (Dan Poulin) and Darcie Piche, Christopher (Erin), Rebecca, Shannan (Steven Flint) and Matthew Barsalou, Ryder Moreau, Vanessa and Stephanie (Tyson Pariseau) St. Cyr, Amber-Lila Moreau, Chantal Gravel, Julia and Hailey Frankow. Loved by his 15 great grandchildren Selena Monique Plourde, Petra Hexter, Madison and Brianna McKechnie, MacAulay, Trent, Amelia, and Cora Piche, Emma, Grace and Jessica Poulin, Ethan Guertin, Jacob and Avery Barbeiro and Ezra Pariseau. He leaves to mourn him his brother Robert Moreau (Louise) and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents Albert and Sylvia (nee Tremblay) Moreau, brothers Raymond (Margaret), Roland, his sisters Pat (Willie Donivan), Regina (Lauri Koski), Jan (Reino Koski), Grace (Arvo Bontinen), Alice (Garnet Robinson), his wife Lila Linklater Moreau, father-in-law Sydney Linklater and mother-in-Law Annie (nee Kirkness) Linklater. Family is invited to visit at the P.M. Gilmartin Visitation Centre (10 Young Street, Chapleau, 1-800-439-4937) on Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Friends are then invited to visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Family will be paying their last respects on Saturday March 25, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sebastian Groleau officiating. Regis’ pallbearers will be Shawn Kirkness O'Riley, Jonathan, Benjamin and Cameran Plourde, Scott McKechnie, Ryder Moreau and Honorary Pallbearers Sydney O'Riley, Robert Plourde, Christopher and Matthew Barsalou. A spring internment will take place at the Chapleau Municipal Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Chapleau Hospital Foundation – The Caring Project to renovate the patient rooms at the Bignucolo Residence where Regis resided for five years would be greatly appreciated by the family. www.gilmartinfuneralhome.ca
