BERNI, Anna Maria (nee Pongrac) (October 2nd, 1926- November 18th, 2016) - Passed away peacefully at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of Anton (Nino) Berni. Loving mother of Jim Berni of Wawa and Evelyn Sopkow (Bill) of Edmonton, Alberta. Cherished grandmother of Dave Sopkow (Amy) of Brandon, Manitoba and Anthony Sopkow (Chelsea) of Calgary, Alberta. Dear sister of Johann Pongrac (Gilda), Berta Uanschou (late Gottfried) of Austria; predeceased by her parents Martin and Maria Pongrac, five brothers and two sisters. She will be remembered by numerous nephews and nieces, friends and neighbours. Anni was born in Judenburg, Austria where she married her husband of 65 years. She came to Canada in 1954, raised her family and had a happy life in Wawa. Mom had a cheerful disposition, was encouraging and loving. It is with sorrow that we mourn her passing, but with great love that we remember her life. At Anni’s request there will be no funeral services. The family expresses their gratitude to the hospital and staff at Lady Dunn Health Centre, with particular thanks to Dr. A. Oberai. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Lady Dunn Health Center Foundation. (Arrangements entrusted to the P. M.
