Obituary of Pâquerette Desgagné

DESGAGNÉ, Pâquerette (née Dubreuil) – Passed away peacefully at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Benoit Desgagné. Loving mother of Jean (Emma) and Paul. Cherished grandmother of Thea, Anna, Jonathan (Daphne Leblanc) and Julie. Proud great grandmother of Nathaniel and Danik. Dear sister of Marcel Dubreuil (Yolande), the late Thérèse Roy, late Emma Godin, late Napoleon Dubreuil, late Florette Hawken, late Joachim Dubreuil, late Hélène Blais and the late Augustin Dubreuil. Pâquette will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She worked with the Dubreuil Brothers as a secretary and camp nurse in Magpie and also was the store manager with her late husband Benoit in Dubreuilville. Pâquette was the town historian, she directed plays, made costumes, was a writer, a poet, a painter and a lover of nature. She was also a devout catholic, who always helped the poor and was a supporter of Canadian Food for Children as well as many other charities. Friends may visit at Église Ste-Cécile, Dubreuilville on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Michael Asorgoe officiating. Interment at the Ste-Cécile Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Ste-Cécile Church or to A.L.S. (Eddy Lefrançois) would be greatly appreciated by the family. (Arrangements entrusted to the P.M. Épouse bien-aimée de feu Benoit Desgagné. Mère bien-aimée de Jean (Emma) et Paul. Grand-mère adorée de Thea, Anna, Jonathan (Daphne Leblanc) et Julie. Arrière-grand-mère de Nathaniel et Danik. Belle-sœur de Marcel Dubreuil (Yolande), feue Thérèse Roy, feue Emma Godin, feu Napoléon Dubreuil, feue Florette Hawken, feu Joachim Dubreuil, feue Hélène Blais et feu Augustin Dubreuil. Pâquerette laisse également dans le deuil de nombreux neveux et nièces. Elle a travaillé chez Dubreuil Brothers en tant que secrétaire et infirmière du camp à Magpie ainsi que gérante du magasin avec son époux, feu Benoit à Dubreuilville. Pâquerette était l’historienne du village, elle a dirigé des pièces de théâtre, fait des costumes, était écrivaine, poète, artiste peintre et une grande attentionnée de la nature. Elle était également une catholique dévouée qui aidait les pauvres et leur venait en aide, en autre, à travers Canadian Food for Children et autres organismes de charité. Parents et amis peuvent lui rendre visite à l’église Ste-Cécile de Debrueilville, vendredi de 7h à 9h. L’abbé Michael Asorgoe y présidera la messe des funérailles samedi 29 octobre 2016 à 11h. L’enterrement suivra au cimetière Ste-Cécile. Des dons in memoriam en faveur de l’église Ste-Cécile ou de A.L.S. (Eddy Lefrançois) seraient grandement appréciés par la famille.
