Obituary of Michael Kevin McCoy

McCOY, Michael Kevin - February 16, 1959 – September 1, 2026 - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Kevin McCoy, who passed away at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 67.

Mike was a loving father to Taylor and a devoted partner to Lisa. He was the cherished son of Joseph McCoy and the late Helen McCoy. Special friend of Florence (Flo) Orr or “Mama Flo” as Mike would say. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Trish Bruj (Ben), Joey (Erin), Cathy (Gilles), and Bob (Maury), and was predeceased by his brother Dwayne (Manon). Mike will also be deeply missed by his extended family and his many dear friends.

From a young age, Mike had a love for sports, music, and the people around him. He spent many memorable years playing for the Wawa Travellers and sharing his musical talent by playing drums for Sandy Beach. A gifted and athletic man, Mike enjoyed curling and golf and treasured the time he spent with his many friends.

Mike will be remembered most for his warm heart, his devotion to his family, his sense of humour, and, of course, his ability to always have a good story to tell. His stories, laughter, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him will remain in their hearts forever.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and countless cherished memories.

Cremation will take place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
