Obituary of Merle Cecile

CECILE, Merle – Passed away peacefully at the Chapleau Health Services with her family by her side on Tuesday August 11, 2026, at the age of 80 years.

Beloved wife of Tim. Adored and loving mother of Meredith Bernier (Calixte). Very loving Nana of Claire (Matthew), Geoff (Hannah), Nolan (Amber) and Braden. Daughter of the late Ethel and Ronald Pearce. Daughter-in-law of the late Renee and Lawless Cecile. Dear sister-in-law of the late Susan Nwosu and Mike Cecile (Carole). Loving aunt of Lisa, Chioma, Eze, Christopher and Geoff.

Cremation took place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A memorial service will take place on at Trinity United Church, Chapleau on Tuesday August 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Don McLean officiating.

Memorial donations made to the Trinity United Church or to the Chapleau Health Service would be appreciated by the family.
