Obituary of Alan Gregory Marsh

Marsh, Alan Gregory - Passed away at his residence September 26, 2025, age 61, of Chapleau. Alan was born March 12, 1964, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He attended Chapleau High School, graduating with honours in1984.

 Alan was the youngest of five boys, Brian (Marcia), Keith (Sally), Gary (Debra), Chris (Leslie). Dear son of the late Lorne and Marie Marsh. Beloved partner to Sadie Marche. Proud father of Denton and Garren Marsh. Loving grandfather to Alani Levesque. They will miss him dearly.

Alan worked as an engineer for CP rail for over 35 years until his retirement in 2021, after which he found peace in gardening, traveling to his second home in Newfoundland,“puttering” around the community doing side jobs (as he would say) and taking his RV to campgrounds Ivanhoe and Wakami-when he was not having a fire in the backyard.

Alan was a devoted father and friend who supported all in his life and always put others first. He will be greatly remembered for his kindness, humour, hospitality and ensuring every visitor felt welcome and was well-fed, often with homemade lasagna, jerky, and his canned goods from the garden.

 Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. 

A private celebration of life for the family will be held on October 6, 2025, in Chapleau, Ontario. Memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
