Obituary of Alvina McAlpine-Sparks

McALPINE-SPARKS, Alvina – Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Chapleau Health Centre at the age 82 years.

Loving mother of Dorcas Barnes (late Max Yaroshewki), late Marcus Barnes, Donna Barnes, Robert Barnes (Liz), Valerie Barnes and Glenn (Jennifer). Proud grandmother of Vicky (Ian), Kelly (Rinaldo), Lisa, Catherine (Adam), Graham, Angel Julia, Natasha, Justin (Monique), Amanda (Stephan), Angie (Rob), Jeremy, and Jonathan. Great grandmother of Logan, Seth (Naomie), Benjamin, Taya, Tyler, Brandon, Harmony, Olivia, Gavin, Salem and Jackson. Great great grandmother of Theodore, Nova and Ezemae. Alvina will be fondly remembered by the father of her children, Harvey Barnes. Dear sister of Margaret Henderson (late Guy), John McAlpine, Frank McAlpine (Nicole), the late Russell Stewart, the late Jean McGregor (late Eugene), the late James Stewart (late Mary), the late Helen Peloquin (Robert) and the late Juliette Amond (late Edward). Alvina will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place at River's Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday August 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Chapleau Municipal Cemetery.
