Obituary of Carole Mackinnon

MACKINNON, Carole - (August 1, 1946 – July 22, 2025) - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carole Mackinnon, who left us peacefully on Tuesday July 22, 2025, just days before her 79th birthday.

She is predeceased by her parents Doran Robichaud (1990), Barbara (1996) and sibling Bonnie Murphy (2015) and her spouse Nick Domitraschuk (2015). She is survived by her children Randy Mackinnon (Zoe), Rob Mackinnon (Sabrina), step daughter Michelle, her sibling Patti Robichaud (Jim) and her grandchildren Briella and Brinzley, her nieces and nephews Barry, Mitzie, Matthew, Maddison, Kendell and Sophia.

Carole was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Known for her warmth, grace, and enduring kindness, she touched the lives of many through her compassion, her strength, and her unwavering support for those she loved. Her gentle spirit, quick wit, and generous heart were gifts to all who knew her. Carole’s life was rich with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community. She cherished the simple joys of life — watching game shows, driving around town (slowly), a shared story, a warm cup of coffee with her friends at the donut shop, and of course her sing song. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carole’s name to the Manitouwadge Cancer Assistance Group.

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, and her memory honoured in the way she would have wanted — with love, laughter, and togetherness. Details of this event will be announced when available.
