Obituary of Guy Henderson

HENDERSON, Guy - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Honoré Guy Henderson. Born on June 10th, 1934 in Saint-Raymond, Portneuf Québec.  He travelled on to his next journey on April 1st, 2025, at the young age of 90 in his Chapleau home surrounded by his loving family. 

Guy arrived in Chapleau by railroad in the early 1950’s. From the tender age of 14, he worked many different jobs such as delivery man, highrise rigger, and General Foreman for the Ministry of Natural Resources, he was very proud of his accomplishments.  Guy retired from Canadian Pacific Railway as a Conductor after 28 years of service. In retirement Guy spent time at his camp with his wife and family.  He loved to garden, drive his tractor and was an avid outdoorsman.

Guy came from a large family and is predeceased by his parents Adrienne and Albert (second wife Amanda) his sisters Rita (late Jules) and Theresa (late André).  He is also predeceased by his brothers Paul (late Marie), André (late Lise), Gerard (Julie), Jean (Georgette) and his step brother Jacques (Rachelle).  He leaves behind his brother Michel (Louise) and sister Alice (late Robert). Dear husband of Margaret Ann (nee McAlpine). 

Dear father to Tina Vaillancourt (Dwayne), David Henderson (Marcy) and Rosalie Henderson.

Dear grandfather to James (Sasha), Jenna (Gerard), Jared, Adam (Kaitlyn), Ocean (Erik), Tony (Terry-Lynne) and Nathan. He is Great Grandfather to Laura, Cédric, Beau, Sierra, Mia, August, Phoenix, Viggo and Elena.

Guy also leaves behind his in laws, Frank (Nicole) McAlpine, John McAlpine and Alvina Barnes as well as countless nieces, nephews and numerous self proclaimed family members. Guy leaves behind a legacy of love, honesty, admiration and respect. 

Cremation has taken place at River's Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie.

Family and Friends are invited to visit at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 12 noon until time of the Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Nshikita officiating.
