I have so many warm memories of Elsie. She was a close family friend and was often in our home. That’s how she found out I had grown out of my skates when I was 10 years old. She said she had her old skates at her house and I could have them so I dropped by after school one day. The skates fell apart as I tried to put them on. I was so disappointed. But, a few days later, Elsie showed up at our house with a brand new pair of skates for me. She was so generous. Her godly life impacted so many people. I know when she stood before Jesus a few days ago, he said to her, “well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” I am sharing a picture of Elsie with “Aunt” Jo Collings and my mom, Madeleine Fex, enjoying studying the Bible together. Beth (Fex) Thomson

I first met Elsie a very long time ago as my Sunday School teacher. Unbeknownst to me then she had planted a seed about the Lord Jesus which eventually came to fruition the first years of married life. She was always faithful in bringing children to Sunday School and definitely a faithful prayer warrior. A cute and funny memory for us was helping Elsie put up her Christmas tree after her beloved Pat had passed away. Trust and obey for there’s no other to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. Faithfully with her Lord and Saviour now. We’ll miss you Elsie

When I think of Elsie a couple special memories come to mind...Elsie's brownies with several set aside for Doug Barnes...her asking me to play Because He Lives on the piano so she could sing it with me.... she was a special lady, a blessing to Wildwood Bible Camp and to me.

Sitting in the kitchen with Elsie having a cup of tea. Elsie always had words of encouragement for young believers in Christ Jesus. She would bring out her bible and quote some of her favourite scriptures that had strengthened her christian walk.
