I just read of Wilmas death. She was the first person to contact me prior to being settled at the Chapleau Church in 1978. She was a truly dedicated person. Her teaching, musical and interpersonal abilities were always evident. It was a joy to sing in her Barbershop group. You will be missed. Rev. David Hooper

Les collègues d'ERO/RTO(Les enseignants(es)retraités de l'Ontario)vous envoient leurs condoléances. Nous savons que la mort de Wilma laisse un grand vide. Votre meilleur réconfort se retrouvera dans les histoires de sa vie, souvent racontées par ceux et celles qui ont connu la joie de sa présence qui inclus ses étudiants(es)et collègues. Le nom de Wilma est ajouté à notre In Memoriam. Nous nous souviendrons d'elle durant notre prochaine réunion. Un don sera fait à ACSM Association canadienne pour la santé mentale à la douce mémoire de Wilma Schmidt.

Wilma's colleagues at RTO/ERO(Retired Teachers of Ontario/Les enseignants(es)retraités de l'Ontario)send their condolences. We know that your best comfort will come from the telling of her life's stories by those who knew the joy of her presence in their lives,including her students and staff members. Wilma's name has been added to our In Memoriam. She will be remembered at our next meeting and a donation will be made to the CMHA Canadian Mental Health Association in memory of Wilma Schmidt.

I remember Wilma when I first went to teach in Chapleau. She was one of the ones who helped me get started in teaching. When I returned as principal she was a valued member of staff who always had her students interests at heart. An excellent teacher and person. Our thoughts are with the family. Don Bosley

I will miss seeing Wilma’s smiling face at church when I am able to visit Chapleau again after this COVID is over. She will be missed tremendously. Sending prayers and condolences for comfort, healing and peace.
